Bake Guide

Your GatDough's pretzels arrive unbaked so you can finish them fresh at home. Follow these simple steps for that authentic Bavarian crust and chewy bite.

Baking Instructions for Frozen Pretzels

  1. 1

    Preheat your oven to 450°F.

  2. 2

Remove pretzels from the freezer and packaging.

  3. 3

Optional: Let them thaw on parchment paper for 5–10 minutes for more even baking.

  4. 4

While they thaw, prepare your baking sheet:
    • Line it with parchment paper, or
    • For a richer crust, grease the sheet with unsalted butter instead (skip the parchment in this case).

  5. 5

Place pretzels evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet.

  6. 6

Lightly spritz or brush the tops with water to help the salt stick.

  7. 7

Sprinkle with pretzel salt to your taste using the provided packet.

  8. 8

Once the oven is ready, bake for 15–20 minutes (depending on oven), or until pretzels turn a deep golden brown.

  9. 9

Tip: Rotate the baking sheet halfway through (8–10 minutes) for even baking.

  10. 10

For extra flavor, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter while the pretzels bake. Brush it over the pretzels during the last 2–3 minutes of baking.

  11. 11

Once they've reached your desired color and texture, remove the pretzels from the oven.

  12. 12

Transfer them to a cooling rack and let rest for 5 minutes.

  13. 13

Serve warm — perfect on their own or with your favorite mustard.
