GatDough's Pretzels' journey began with a spontaneous trip to Europe. We wandered beer halls, markets, and streets where Old World traditions still feel alive. Of all the foods we tried, one stayed with us: the Bavarian pretzel. Deep brown from a proper lye dip, crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and best enjoyed with good company.
Back home, we set out to recreate that experience. A stand mixer, a lot of research, and countless test batches later, we arrived at a recipe that honors tradition while allowing space for a quiet twist of our own. We rely on the foundational elements of a true Bavarian pretzel, including slow fermentation and a proper lye dip, to deliver flavor and texture that feel authentic in every bite.
To preserve that bakery-fresh experience, we focus on baking pretzels fresh whenever possible. From pop-ups and on-site events to made-to-order delivery, our pretzels are baked just before they’re meant to be enjoyed.
For partners and home bakers, unbaked frozen pretzels are also available by inquiry, ready to be finished in your own oven while maintaining the character of a true Bavarian pretzel.
